"Islamic fascists," George W. Bush indicates
that he now shares the extremist notion that
the United States is engaged in a "World War III"
against militants within the world's one billion
Muslims.
Despite the U.S. disaster in Iraq and the Israeli
failure in Lebanon, Bush also seems to believe
that applications of high-tech violence, such
as targeted bombings, can succeed in this ill-defined
conflict -- although civilian casualties from
air attacks are certain to simply recruit more Islamic
extremists determined to kill Westerners.
